When some of the best healthcare systems in the world are considered, there is no list where you won't find the Netherlands around the top.

The universal health care model ensures that every citizen of the country has access to basic healthcare and each citizen over the age of eighteen years contributes to the healthcare system in the country.

One of the best things about living in the Netherlands is the excellent quality of Dutch healthcare, which is among the best in the world.

The health system is run by the government and supplemented by private insurance companies, where residents must obtain health insurance coverage in the Netherlands to access services.

The health insurance comparison begins with the basic insurance comparison. It is necessary for everyone, and therefore it is considered the most important. Although the cover, unlike add-on packages, is always the same as the basic policy, good research is still needed.

There are differences, for example, if you are allowed to go to all hospitals. Especially people who care need often benefit from basic insurance that suits them.

As a first step, it is recommended that you decide if you want to buy as cheaply as possible or if you make a conscious decision based on your care needs. A very inexpensive basic health insurance is quite possible, but it is not recommended if you need care.

Then it is better to make a good comparison and understand which health insurance offers the best coverage for your needs.

As a second step, choose between in-king or refund policy. The difference is that with one type of policy you are limited to the hospital or doctor you go to.

With a refund policy, you have a hundred percent freedom. Of course, there are some nuances. Most health insurers have contracted with many care providers with in-kind policies, so you still have a lot to choose from.

But if the hospital you want is not on the list, you should definitely choose a reimbursement policy or a policy in-kind contracted by your preferred doctor or hospital.

If you have chosen a particular policy type, you can continue with the comparison. Consider if you need dental care, orthodontics, physiotherapy, and do you want to be able to choose new glasses or contact lenses every year. Consider if you use tools and put all your wishes on a piece of paper.

It could be something like this:

My favorite hospital is the "Name of the hospital followed by the locations."

Do not want to incur any cost, so I choose an in-kind policy that is cheaper than the reimbursement variable.

Check what insurance companies have contracted with the hospital mentioned before and choose the most cost-effective insurance policy. This way, you can choose with confidence the cheapest health insurance available in the Netherlands.
