There's a clear OSRS gold appetite for RuneScape on iOS as well as Android. The game has more than 1.8 million players pre-registered to play these versions, with Mobile-friendly user interfaces with updated menus, icons, texts and textures. Combat mechanics have been altered to work on iOS and Android.
The company has registered two trademarks in the UK One that reads "OSRS Gold" and one to "RS Gold" in the filing noting that the company registered the use of the terms as words. This should stop websites that are not affiliated with the company from being able to claim that they sell RS Gold.
A quick Google search for the term results in hundreds of websites many of them with one of the terms in their URLs. They offer the currency of RuneScape to exchange real money. This followed the news on the 13th of October that Jagex announced that it was ending with "real-world trading". In a post on their website "The RuneScape Team" clarified that "gold that is purchased via RWT real world trading is a major issue in any online game with a traded currency."
Jagex claims it will be sending "messages to those that we've identified to be involved in RWT" within "the next few hours". "For anyone involved, we want to be clear that this is the one message, and the only one," it added.
Also announced was the news regarding the games PvP option, Duel Arena, would be subject to sweeping changes which include the more strict enforcement of the game's rules of buy RS gold conduct in order to promote more positive gaming. Jagex states that Duel Arena "has been a catalyst for this type of behavior".
