Usually, logistics companies prefer the sea route for locations that are further, and goods such as vegetables and others that can be easily perishable are not transported via the sea route because it takes time and the time it takes to reach from one to the next is the con of the sea transport. Mainly because sea transports depend a lot on the weather condition, if the sea is wild or if there is a chance of any cyclone formation the ship has to be halted at teh docking station till the weather clears up. But compared to land routes, ships can carry a huge amount of cargo in one go. There will be considerable delays in the international routes because of teh custom clearance that has to be done by the navy and the respective officials. To reach every nook and corner sea route is the best method.
3. By Air
If you have a package that has to reach a destination in the shortest time, air cargo is the way to go. But will be more hard on the pockets with tighter restrictions. The price is one con and the use of air cargo releases greenhouse gases that affect the ozone layer which is already in a state of deterioration. Air transport has to follow a strict protocol which starts from scanning the cargo and multiple custom clearance to various packaging formalities to make sure the unit doesn’t move around during the flight stage and no damage occurs. Air transport is best for moving items that have a short shelf life like food materials that have to reach a point before a given time frame. Air transport is the safest method of transportation that is available right now. Weather condition is not also a problem as the route can be changed instantly.
