Precautions to Handle Acid Dye
Acid Dyes can be dangerous as they are highly toxic. Hence certain precautions have to be taken while working with it and after working with it. They are as follows:
- Wear Gloves- While dyeing particular products gloves should be worn because the chemical is corrosive and can cause blisters on the skin.
- Wear Goggles- While working with Acid dyes goggles should be worn or else the fumes may cause certain serious effects on the eyes.
- PPE- while working with dyes that are corrosive a protective clothing should be worn and that can be a PPE kit also. Howsoever, old clothing will also help save the motive.
- Disposal- After the work is done the acid dye preparation should be taken and it should be immediately disposed of off to the sewers or drains because the leftover chemical may cause a lot of accidents and people may get hurt.
- Avoid Contacts- Any kind of direct contact of the skin should be strictly avoided and for that, every possible measure to cover the skin and face should be done.
- Wear Masks- The fumes are really dangerous hence while dealing with Acid dyes it masks should be worn.
- Properly stored in Laboratories- proper storage of these dangerous products is very important and since the acid dye is also very explicitly used in schools and colleges it should be stored in proper containers and should be kept out of reach of the students.
