The Central Organization for the Control of Medicines Standards (CASCO) recently issued a notification on July 26, 2021, regarding the classification of medical devices used in dermatological and plastic surgery medical instruments in accordance with the provisions of the Medical Device Regulations (MER) 2017.
This list includes a total of 55 medical devices, which have been divided into three classes: A, B and C. This risk classification has been made according to the intended use, the risk associated with the device and several other parameters set out in the First MER 2017 Schedule.
The quality, safety and performance of these medical devices are governed by the provisions of the Medicines and Cosmetics Act of 1940 and related regulations. This list is subject to changes from time to time
