Global periodontal therapies have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak. In order to prevent the transmission of viruses and preserve medical PPEs, the Centres for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) suggested in March 2020 that dental providers in clinics and hospitals across the U.S. minimize non-essential dental, medical, and surgical treatments. As a result, the number of Periodontal Disease Therapeutics both surgical and non-surgical has significantly decreased. However, because to over-the-counter sales, adjuvant therapies, such as the use of antibiotics, are more resilient than surgical treatment methods. Another significant area of development in the market for periodontal therapies is biological treatments. The emphasis is on promoting biologic agents for periodontal regeneration due to growing evidence for the biologics' significance in dental health.
