One fine day, an NFT admirer conveyed his wish to establish his own NFT studio and asked for suggestions from me. But then, it bewildered me (to a certain extent) - because - most people buy/sell NFTs as an investment source. During our session, I shared some thoughts on what may work and what may not (based on my knowledge).
I’ve decided to summarize our talk session as a blog post on establishing your creative NFT studio without much hassle.
Figure out what you want to be
(NFT) creators and studios seem alike but are dissimilar (in fact). Before starting, ascertain how you would (like to) offer your services and how you’d wish to spend your day. An NFT production studio would want you to be an all-in-one player, while an NFT studio would want you to focus only on creative NFT designs.
The decision is up to you - pick a field of play that best suits your personality and range of expertise.
Solve problems
We know what you're thinking: "Duh!" We're designers, so we should solve problems. That's what design is all about." We agree, however, to consider the following scenario: Make an effort to identify problems to fix, particularly those that are unique to you and your client's environment. Obsessively seek out these contextual issues and their answers. There's no better way to dispel the misconception that design is a luxury than to show it in its most basic form: problem-solving.
Focus on Utility
I’ve come across many NFTs which are aesthetic (in design), but not many own them. My hunch is that none buys them because they don’t offer much utility. Make sure your approach to NFTs benefits all the parties involved. For artists, the benefits mean perpetual royalties (for their artworks). For collectors, it means never-seen-before artworks and collectibles. NFT works of art will survive forever since blockchain technology prevents them from degrading — and, like any other art form, they may be passed down through the generations.
Jump-start your Creative NFT Studio
Remember that owning an NFT studio needn’t be rushed; instead, it requires a pragmatic approach.
Welp, make sure you do your own research (DYOR) before proceeding with the studio.
