Carbon is typically produced as soot from the partial combustion of hydrocarbons and is primarily used as a reinforcing agent in car tyres and other rubber products.
Additionally, Carbon Black is utilised in polymers, resistors, and protective coatings for electrical circuits. It significantly increases resistance to wear and abrasion as a reinforcing filler. Carbon makes up about one-fourth of the weight of a typical car tyre. Even additional carbon is added to make the tyres of vehicles, such oil tankers and hospital operating carts, whose tyres need to avoid accumulating an electrostatic charge.
