Why not DIY? Anything homemade is always better produced than store-bought, especially when it comes to food. Homemade seasonings are better because:

seasoning in a jar with spoon

4 main categories: herbs, spices, garlic, and onion.

Herbs: some herbs pair well with chicken such as thyme, basil, rosemary, and parsley.

Spices: Some spices are meant to boost the chicken taste and take the dish to another level.

Garlic and onion: I do not remember cooking chicken once without these two ingredients. Apart from adjusting the smell of the dish, they serve as perfect enhancers of the flavor.

First, let’s agree on the amount of seasoning you will need. As a rule of thumb, you will need a tablespoon of chicken seasoning for each half KG of chicken. Don’t go for less and don’t go for more.

Chicken seasoning in a jar

You can cook seasoned chicken in different ways:

The chicken seasoning must be stored in an air-tight container or bag. The most important part is to store the seasoning in a cool dry place. A spice drawer or spice cupboard is the right place.

If you want to prepare a range of seasonings at home like me, then make sure to label each jar with the name of the seasoning it includes.
