Nearly one-third (29.6%) of the respondents believe that homeopathic products do not contain harmful substances. The proportion of people with good chemical expertise that homeopathic products do not contain harmful substances is 15.9%, and the proportion of people with low chemical knowledge that homeopathic products do not contain harmful substances is 36.1% (χ 2 = 28.1, p <0.0000 ). Almost every two members of consumer organizations (45.9%, χ 2 = 28.1, p < 0.0000) believe that homeopathic products contain no harmful substances.

A quarter (25.5%) of the respondents believe that natural medicines do not contain harmful substances. 12.6% of people with good chemical knowledge think that natural medicine does not contain any harmful substances, while those with poor chemical knowledge think that natural medicine does not contain any harmful substances, accounting for 34.1% (χ 2 = 37.4, p < 0.0000). More than one-third (38.3%) of students believe that natural medicine does not contain any harmful substances, and 21% of those with academic qualifications believe that natural medicine does not contain any harmful substances (χ 2 = 42.8, p < 0.0000).

One-fifth (20.1%) of the respondents said that all products contain hazardous substances. People with very good chemistry knowledge (30.8%) chose this answer, while those with little chemistry knowledge (15.2%, χ 2 = 21.3, p < 0.0000).

Some respondents (3.6%) made additional suggestions, many of which indicated that these respondents were very aware of the problem, such as: “In general, all products may contain hazardous substances.” Harmful to human health Trace substances are everywhere. "The greater the dose, the greater the poison." "Organic does not mean free from..." There is no 100% safety. "Natural substances are harmful to human health. "Some people feel that they are well-informed: "Because of my profession, I can also evaluate this issue very well. "

Avoidance is the most popular risk reduction strategy

The risk caused by hazardous substances depends on exposure. Participants can point out the measures they use to reduce personal or environmental risks.

Obviously, there are 4 preferred options to reduce personal risks, and 5 preferred options to reduce environmental risks. More than two-thirds of the participants chose these options, while all other options are secondary and remain below 6%.

Three-quarters (74.6%) of people said that they would not buy such products to reduce personal risk. This ratio is higher among members of environmental protection organizations (81.5%, χ 2 = 11.2, p < 0.0000). Fewer respondents (70.8%) said they would not buy such products to reduce environmental risks (b), especially members of environmental protection organizations (80%), while 66.6% of non-members chose this option (χ 2 = 17.1, p <0.0000). The knowledge in chemistry chose this answer (χ2 = 16.9, p & lt; 0.003).

Few foremen/business managers (51.2%, χ 2 = 13.2, p <0.0003) indicated that they would reduce their personal risks according to the instructions, and the average was 63.8%.

2.5% of respondents believe that the amount they use is so small that they do not need to pay attention to any environmental risks. However, no member of a consumer organization believes this.
