Designed at Area 51 – The Secret Boeing Bird of Prey
Designed at Area 51, the so-called 'Secret Boeing Bird of Prey' is a secret military project that has been in development for decades. The U-2 spy plane was originally conceived as a lightweight, high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft. But in the early 1960s, the CIA and the Department of Defense started work on a more advanced version of the plane which would be capable of operating at low altitudes and under the radar.
The program was codenamed 'Skynet' and it quickly became one of the most secretive military projects ever undertaken by the United States. The Skynet U-2 was designed to fly at extremely low altitudes and travel long distances without being detected by enemy forces. It could also carry out reconnaissance missions while staying hidden from enemy satellites.
