How to Create Engaging Infographics for Your Website

Infographics are an effective and engaging way to quickly convey information, whether it’s about your business, your industry, or something as broad as the state of the economy. And while you can hire graphic designers to create infographics for you, it’s cheaper and more time-efficient to learn how to do them yourself using tools like Canva. Here’s how!

Choose a Topic

The first step in creating an infographic is choosing a topic. Do you want to create something that’s informative or entertaining? Are you trying to sell a product, service, or idea? Do you have statistics and facts that you’d like more people to see? These are just some of the things you should consider when deciding on your topic. If you don’t know where to start, look at other infographics on social media—you can often gather a lot of inspiration from these sources. You might also want to check out sites like BuzzSumo, which will show you what types of content perform best across various social networks. You can use their Top Content tab to find out what kind of content gets shared most frequently across Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, etc. This information will help give you an idea about what types of topics resonate with different audiences.

Choose an Infographic Template

When you choose an infographic template, you’re deciding how much design work you want to do. Many of Canva’s infographic templates include a few stock photos and stock illustrations that you can customize with a couple of clicks. If you want complete creative control over your design, create your own custom-made infographics from scratch. You have access to millions of stock images and vectors on Canva; all you need is some basic design skills to create something beautiful. But if you don’t feel like creating your own infographic from scratch, there are plenty of pre-made templates available in Canva. Just click Create new design at the top left corner of any page in Canva to get started! Rules Not To Follow About IMAGE SUBMISSION.

Get Ideas From an Expert

When crafting an infographic, it’s always a good idea to consult an expert. If you aren’t skilled in graphic design, reach out to a company like Canva or Visme who can create your infographic with ease. Or, try one of these tools: Venngage, Piktochart, or Online-Infographic Maker. Chances are you won’t need all these tools to get started. But if you’re feeling overwhelmed by all of your options, just remember that creating infographics is supposed to be fun! And if you want more tips on how to create engaging infographics, check out our post here. You can also take a look at our infographic templates page, which includes many types of different templates and layouts for any type of content you might create.

Create Graphics

Create beautiful infographics, charts, and images from scratch in Canva. Whether you’re creating graphics for your next presentation or just want to create visuals that’ll bring your business website alive, Canva is a great free tool to start with. Upload any photos, add text captions and buttons, and resize elements on demand—the options are virtually endless. In fact, I recently used it to create these infographics: How Women Can Become More Confident (and what men can do about it), Why You Shouldn’t Be Afraid of Failure, and What You Need To Know About The Paleo Diet. It was incredibly easy to use, and I loved how my design came out! Plus, there are tons of templates available if you don’t feel like creating something from scratch.

Write The Copy

If you’re looking to create some engaging, shareable content for your website, infographics are a great way to get people’s attention. An infographic is a visual representation of information, data, or knowledge intended to present complex information quickly and clearly. Because infographics are such powerful tools for sharing knowledge and ideas with your audience, it’s important that you design them correctly. Here are some tips from Canva on how you can create successful infographics By keeping these guidelines in mind as you create your own infographics, you’ll be able to create beautiful graphics that will help attract new customers and engage current ones. You can use our pre-made templates or start from scratch – either way, designing an infographic has never been easier!

Add Illustrations

Infographics require both an understanding of design as well as subject matter expertise. I can’t tell you how many times someone has sent me a poorly designed infographic with incorrect data or poor research, only to have it fail in reaching a wider audience. While there are other tools that let you create infographics online, Canva is my favorite because it is intuitive and user-friendly. The platform allows you to create beautiful infographics without having any design experience. You can even upload your own images, so if you want to include photos from your own website or social media channels in your infographic, then Canva will make it easy for you. It also allows you to collaborate on projects with team members inside their manager. So, if you’re working with someone else to create an infographic, they can add content directly to your project using Canva. Plus, once you publish your finished project to a page on your website or social media channel, Canva provides embed code that makes it super simple for anyone to share it across their own platforms.

Finalize, Publish and Promote

Once you have created your infographic, you’ll need to finalize it, save it, and then publish and promote it. To promote your infographic, start by sharing it on social media. Then continue by linking to your infographic from relevant pieces of content on your website or company blogs. You can also send traffic directly to your site’s landing page. It’s important to include a call to action in order to drive engagement with your infographic. For example, if you want people to share your infographic, ask them to do so at the end of your post. If you want people to comment on it, ask them to do so at the bottom of your post or in a comment section below it. Finally, consider embedding your infographic into an email newsletter. This will help build momentum around its launch.
