Thermally Conductive Polymers
Polymers are often employed as insulators, but MIT researchers have developed a method to convert polyethylene, the most commonly used polymer, into a conductor that transmits heat better than many pure metals.
The physical and chemical properties of Thermally Conductive Polymers are different. They are made of a mixture of two or more monomers that are joined together by weak bonds. It can be single chains, forked branches, or networks of intertwined monomers. All of these properties are important to the material's functionality.
