What is a Turp electrode?

A surgical treatment called a transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) involves removing a portion of the prostate.

Only men have the prostate, a little gland in the pelvis. It encircles the urethra and is situated around the penis and bladder (the tube that carries urine from the bladder to the penis).

The bladder and urethra may experience pressure if the prostate enlarges. Among the signs of this are difficulties urinating.

Why is TURP carried out?

TURP is frequently advised when prostate enlargement results in bothersome symptoms that do not improve with pharmaceutical treatment.

Following TURP, symptoms include difficulty urinating, weak or inconsistent urine flow, straining to urinate, frequent night-time urination, sudden urges to urinate, and difficulty completely emptying your bladder may improve.

How Turp is performed?

A resect scope, a tiny metal tube with a wire loop, light, and camera, is used during TURP. There is no need for skin incisions because this is passed through your urethra and into your prostate.

The portion of your prostate sliced away by the hot wire loop gives you symptoms. Afterwards, a catheter is put into your urethra to pump fluid into your bladder and remove any remaining prostate fragments.

You won't experience any discomfort throughout the treatment because general or spinal anaesthesia is administered.

Turp electrodes and loops from Nikotech are excellent for helping the penial urethral meatus dilate on its own. They are designed specifically for use with monopolar current and include premium PTFE insulation. We ensure that the products we supply are of the highest quality and test them thoroughly before delivery. For example, every electrode is put through a high-frequency leak test.

Our TURP Electrodes are compatible with the STORZ 1 Stem Instrument, STORZ 2 Stem Instrument, Olympus 1 Stem Instrument, and Wolf 1 Stem Instrument because they have a 24Fr diameter.

We aim to give you access to high-quality medical supplies suitable for a range of challenging surgical procedures. We have a specialised R&D lab and a team of professionals continually striving to improve our goods for our clients.

The equipment cannot be used to treat cancer; it is only intended for usage in irrigated environments (0.9% chloride).
