Water Filtration Plant

Drinking water for community is the very common utility of Filtration Plant, as most of areas of urban and rural have municipal water supply full of contamination, People do not have access to pure and clean drinking water and it is the main cause of growing diseases in our country. Now Government has realizes the fact and started installing Filtration Plant in different locations for general public. Most of the housing societies have their own Filtration Plants for their residents. Ultrafiltration Plant provides purified water supply to the community at very nominal running cost.

Benefits of Community Filtration Plant

The water supply of home (municipality/bore) often has a lot of physical and chemical impurities, which can be observed by examination of water storage tank, having a lot of dirt in it. Sometime that dirt or particles can also be seen in water taps. The solution of this problem is Whole House Filtration Plant. This plant has four stages of water cleaning & purification.

Commercial buildings like hotels, restaurants, resorts, public places, condominiums, Filtration plant has been needed and being used to get rid of dust, rust, fungus, physical and chemical impurities for the ultimate supply of pure water. Water Engineering Technologies offers complete range of tailor made commercially designed Filtration Plants depending upon the need of our valued customers.

Ultra Filtration Plant is the system that removes physical, chemical and biological impurities from raw/tap water and makes it fit for drinking. Ultra Filtration Plant has different types based upon the need, requirement and condition of raw water. Here is a fully loaded Ultra Filtration Plant, it has multiple steps, the detail of each step is mentioned below.

An Ultra Filtration Plant starts with a horizontal centrifugal type pump in stainless steel construction has been provided to feed raw water into the system. The raw water source can be municipal water or bore well, the raw water can be supplied directly to the feed pump or it can be stored in raw water storage tank first.

In Ultra Filtration Plant, raw water is first entered into Sand Filter; it’s the 1st stage filter which removes physical particles up to 20 micron size & turbidity from water. The Sand Filter is a very basic component of Ultra Filtration Plant, it has multi-layered beds of sand media like Gravel, Quartz, Silica and Anthracite. The water passes through multiple stages of sand beds and gets purified as physical impurities are being blocked into the sand layers. The suspended particles present in the water are being pooled up in the bottom of the Sand Vessel which can be removed by back washing periodically, twice or thrice weekly.

Sand Filtration & Ultra Filtration Plant is frequently used in the treatment of groundwater to remove dissolved iron. Iron and manganese in the groundwater are oxidized by aeration and the flocks formed are subsequently trapped in the sand filter. After a certain period of time, the filter is saturated with particles and must be cleaned to prevent it from blocking up completely. Sand filters are cleaned by backwashing with water to keep the performance of Ultra Filtration Plant satisfactory.

Ultra Filtration (UF) is used to remove essentially all colloidal particles (0.001 to 0.1 microns) from water and some of the largest dissolved contaminants. The pore size in an Ultra Filtration membrane is mainly responsible for determining the type and size of contaminants removed. In general, membrane pore range in size from 0.005 to 0.1 micron. Ultra Filtration (UF) membrane nearly all of the compound will not pass through the membrane.

An Ultra Filtration filter has a pore size around 0.01 microns. A microfiltration/micron filter has a pore size around 0.1 microns, so when water undergoes microfiltration, many microorganisms are removed, but viruses remain in the water. Ultrafiltration would remove these larger particles, and may remove some viruses.

Ultra Filtration (UF) is a membrane filtration process similar to Reverse Osmosis, using hydrostatic pressure to force water through a semi-permeable membrane. Ultra Filtration (UF) is a pressure-driven barrier to suspended solids, bacteria, viruses, endotoxins and other pathogens to produce water with very high purity and low silt density.

Ultra Filtration (UF) is a variety of membrane filtration in which hydrostatic pressure forces a liquid against a semi permeable membrane. Suspended solids and solutes of high molecular weight are retained, while water and low molecular weight solutes pass through the membrane. Ultra Filtration is not fundamentally different from reverse osmosis, microfiltration or Nano filtration, except in terms of the size of the molecules it retains.

The 6th stage of Ultra Filtration Plant is UV sterilizer. It’s the most popular technology that has been used for disinfecting water from virus and bacteria worldwide. Using the same germicidal rays as the sun, but hundreds of times stronger UV offers a reliable, cost effective, environmentally friendly best alternative to chemicals and their resulting bi-products. UV Sterilization is not a chemical processes, it’s purely a physical process so it doesn’t alter water’s chemistry, taste, smell or pH at all.

In Ultra Filtration Plant, the water passes through a stainless steel chamber in which an Ultraviolet Lamp has been fixed through a glass tube called quartz sleeve. The Ultraviolet light passes across the water and disinfect the virus and bacteria.

Ultraviolet (UV) sterilizer is a part of Ultra Filtration Plant common applications are Community, Commercial and Industrial Ultra Filtration Plant.

Ultra Filtration Plants are the system which removes physical, chemical & biological impurities from water and make it portable for drinking.

Yes, Ultra Filtration Plant removes smell and bad taste from water though its activated carbon filter.

An ultrafiltration plant removes physical, chemical and biological impurities from water, whereas RO Plant removes physical, chemical and biological impurities as well as heavy metals and salts and minerals present in the water. Ultrafiltration is used to treat the water where TDS levels of raw water are below 500 ppm. The water with a greater than 500 TDS can be treated with RO Plant.
