Veterinary Drugs Compounding is the science of creating custom pharmaceuticals to provide patients with unique remedies. Compounded drugs for pets are available in a variety of formulations, including compounded pills and chews, flavoured solutions, and transdermal therapy.
Veterinary Drugs Compounding is the tailored manipulation of an approved drug(s) by a veterinarian, or by a pharmacist on a veterinarian's prescription, to satisfy the needs of a specific patient, as defined by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Extra-Label Drug Use regulations. Mixing two injectable medications, making an oral paste or slurry from broken pills, or adding flavouring to a treatment are all examples of proper compounding in veterinary practise. FDA-approved animal or human medications must be used to make compounded preparations.
