Perfume is a mixture of fragrant typically made from essential oils extracted from flowers and spices, used to give the human, animals, objects, food, and living-spaces an agreeable scent. It is used to give a pleasant and desirable scent to the body, typically with the aim of increasing self-appeal and self-confidence. This may help reduce anxiety and stress, enhance health and well-being by improving mood, improve sleep, and increase cognitive function. A perfume is a very complex composition of base notes, heart notes, and top notes.
Top notes are the most delicate and usually don't last very long, while the heart notes last longer than the top notes and tend to be herbal, floral and spice notes. The base notes are the scent of a perfume that appears close to the departure of the middle notes. Perfumes can be defined as substances that emit and diffuse a pleasant & fragrant odor. They consist of manmade mixtures of essential oils and aromatic chemicals. Until the nineteenth century perfumes were usually composed of natural aromatic oils.
