Northeast Ohio Nonprofit Recognizes Sickle Cell Disease Angel Advocates and Celebrates World Sickle Cell Day
Meesha C. Saxton Fund (MCS~Fund) will host the 5th Annual Celebration “Unmasking Sickle Cell Masquerade Ball”

NORTHEAST, OH (June, 2022) The MCS Fund will host a themed fundraising masquerade ball entitled, Unmasking Sickle Sunday, June 19, 2022 at LaVera Party Center, 32200 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills, Ohio 44094, Time: 6:30pm-10:30pm. This annual fundraising event will honor 2 local sickle cell anemia disease angel advocates and celebrate MCS~Fund’s impact on supporting individuals and communities with advocacy, resources, and educational initiatives.

 

The Unmasking Sickle Cell Masquerade Ball is MCS~Fund’s signature fundraising event held in conjunction with World Sickle Cell Day, June 19, 2022 serves as a day to raise awareness! It's a United Nations recognized day to increase awareness of the impact caused by sickle cell disease at a national and international level. Through this annual event, MCS~Fund celebrates 5 years of accomplishments of local leaders who embody our mission, while raising funds to support individuals and families in Northeast Ohio.

 

Our themed, fun-filled event will also host the MCS~Fund’s Angel Advocate Award. This event allows us the opportunity to recognize exceptional leaders who have advanced healthcare, specially related to sickle cell disease. The award is being presented to those individuals who have demonstrated innovative contributions to improve healthcare, among underserved populations, using a global perspective, with local objectives in urban markets. The 2022 Angel Advocate Award recipients share a common community-health vision and champion the need to support individuals and families with resources to manage living with sickle cell anemia disease.

The “Unmasking Sickle Cell” Masquerade Ball is a semi-formal event. It is an elegant affair geared to engage more than 200 guests with entertainment, raffle drawings and a host of other fun activities. Proceeds help support the Meesha C Saxton Fund efforts focusing primarily on advocacy, resources, and education. The evening will highlight MCS~Fund’s accomplishments, recognize and honor Meesha C.
