Five thousand years ago, the theological science of the Bhagavad Gita was spoken by Sri Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, to His disciple Sri Arjuna. He is exalted in his teachings, because the principles of religion are promulgated by God Himself.

The Bhagavad Gita is one of the ancient texts of India and is derived from the epic poem Mahabharata. Throughout history, this is still the longest poem ever written, at over 100,000 shlokas, or over 200,000 verses. Although the Bhagavad Gita is only part of this vast text, it is perhaps one of the most important and revered yogic texts ever written.

Texts such as the Upanishads and Dhammapada are also part of this epic poem, but it is the Bhagavad Gita that is often cited as the key to personal transformation.
