Dyestuff Colourants Have A Strong Affinity For Persistence On Materials
Although natural dyes were mostly used in the past, synthetic dyes now make up a larger portion of the Dyestuff sector

When a fabric is dyed, a colour is added with some level of durability or fastness. The compounds that give colour are called Dyestuff. When these colourants have a strong affinity for and persistence on materials, they are referred to as dyes. The degree of abrasion resistance or colour permanence is entirely attributable to the molecular interaction between the specific dye and the particular textile fibre due to the obvious molecular attraction between them.

Dye types can be classified as fiber-specific. This means that polyester, acrylic, wool, or any other commonly used textile material would not take cotton dyes. The colouring chemicals or pigments that are used to give textiles a particular look are known as textile dyes. Dyeing gives textiles like denim, polyester, wool, cotton, acrylic, fur, nylon, silk, and many others their colours. Dyestuff are chemical colourants used in textile production to get the desired shade of colour.
