Intraoperative Monitoring Electrodes

Intraoperative monitoring electrodes placed to the pertinent anatomy of the patient continuously send data that can be examined on a monitor. Intraoperative monitoring is the use of electrophysiological tools including EEG, EMG, and evoked potentials to monitor the functional integrity of specific neural structures (the brain, nerves, and spinal cord) during surgery. Intraoperative Monitoring Electrodes come in a number of configurations to offer clinicians with accurate, real-time EEG data during various mapping and monitoring operations.

The use of electrophysiological methods such as electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), and evoked potentials to monitor the functional integrity of certain neural structures (e.g., nerves, spinal cord, and parts of the brain) is known as intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM) or intraoperative neuromonitoring.
