Sachin Tikekar, the President of KPIT Technologies stated that at present only 2 percent of the firms’ employees are working from their homes. The company is planning on bringing back around 20% of its employees to work from January with the assumption that situations would have gotten better.

The company is likely to revamp its agendas for the longer-term policies. Moreover, the government is encouraging the ITes and other firms to adhere to their remote working and WFH models until the end of this year.

Prior to this, a number of major industry players such as Google, Twitter, and Amazon had announced either extension of their WFH policies until summer next year or permanent work from home forever due to the fact that they managed to yield greater results.

But there are still a number of Indian IT firms that are reluctant about their employees working from home, even though it is the need of the hour and seems to be procuring better results. These firms have enforced that though some of their staff will be allowed to permanently work from home, others will be required in the office to excel.
