The success of an anime depends on the success of its characters. These are some of the most popular anime characters in the world right now.

1.    Lelouch Lamperouge-Code Geass:

One of anime's most intricately constructed and multidimensional series has a complicated character at the top of the heap. A prince 17th in line to the throne, Lelouch Lamperouge, gave up his position after his mother was assassinated and his sister was paralyzed.

2.    L Lawliet-Death Note:

"World's finest detective" L Lawliet is Light Yagami's foil and Light Yagami's archenemy.

L's odd demeanor, off-center posture, or sweet tooth diet create a lasting impact on the spectator, which undoubtedly enhances the tension of an already intriguing suspense series.

3.    Monkey D. Luffy-One Piece:

Monkey D. Luffy, the Captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, is the third of the "Big Three" in Shounen Jump.

Even though Luffy is the son of a notorious rebel and the great-great-grandson of a renowned marine, his lowly beginnings as a young boy were inspired by his pirate idol, "Red-Haired" Shanks.

4.    Levi Ackerman-Attack on Titan:

Humanity's most powerful soldier and the head of Scouting Legion and Special Operations Squad Levi Ackerman are next in line for a sword’s mastery lesson.

Fans have become fond of Levi since his entrance, but he's also taken their respect, because of his role as the frigid, stern-faced captain.

5.    Edward Elric-Fullmetal Alchemist:

Fullmetal Alchemist's" Edward Elric has provided fans with a level of feisty, underdog passion, and ethically tortured human drama that few if any other Shounen heroes can match.

6.    Light Yagami-Death Note:

High-concept, morally challenged, and intriguing character: Kira Light Yagami, an adolescent rescuer, and punisher of evil. It wasn't until he was a high school senior that he was able to break free of the limitations of society and family and go on a journey of global atonement and mass killing, which he had previously been unable to do.

7.    Rintarou Okabe-Steings; Gate:

To better serve the otaku community in Akihabara, he and a group of his fellow first-year students at Tokyo Denki University have chosen to start their own time travel research lab. Rin has a cult following thanks to his outlandish antics, but he also manages to hold viewers' interest with his underlying honesty and fascination.

8.    Roronoa Zoro-One Piece:

It's no surprise that Roronoa Zoro, the "Pirate Hunter" and first mate of the Straw Hat pirates, has been included in our list of the most popular supporting characters. Zoro used to be a brash youngster who believed that simply because he possessed more swords, he was inherently more powerful.

9.    Naruto Uzamaki-Naruto:

Naruto Uzumaki, the "Nine-Tailed Fox" of Hidden Leaf Village and one of the dreaded "Big Three," occupies seat #9. Naruto epitomizes the phrase "starting at the bottom," having entered the ninja world as the school's most despised student.

10.                       Sakata Gintoki-Gintama:

This list begins with the class clown of anime who can make everybody laugh or even weep at the drop of a hat. Gintama alone is considered as the king of anime comedy, renowned for its weird humor, loveable characters, and an unfathomable quantity of pop culture allusions that even put Family Guy to shame.
