From solar panels to electric vehicles, there are plenty of ways businesses can make a shift towards renewables. However, there is always a cost associated with such a shift, and the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) has a way to help. The CEFC has announced it is committing a further $200 million to the ANZ bank’s clean energy finance program. Delivering discounted loans to, ANZ and the CEFC are working hand-in-hand to help businesses adopt green technology such as solar, recycling infrastructure, electric vehicles, and more.

What is the clean energy finance program?

The program is aimed at small to medium businesses wanting to access energy efficiency projects, such as the installation of solar panels or the adoption of electric vehicles. ANZ is offering a discount of 0.5% on loans up to $5 million, with funding for the program coming from the CEFC.

This recent announcement of a $200 million contribution expands on the $250 million the CEFC has already committed to the program, taking the total investment to $450 million. For SMEs looking to reduce their carbon footprint and also slash operating costs, the program has also now been extended to include recycling solutions and other energy efficiency measures, where it was previously designed mostly for solar and electric vehicles.

What can businesses use the loans for?

The most popular things businesses have used these loans for so far are solar installations and electric vehicles. However, there are a lot of other energy efficiency technologies that can now be accessed, such as:

  •       Recycling systems and technologies
  •       Precision agricultural equipment
  •       Electric vehicles and charging stations
  •       Energy generation
  •       Energy storage

All you need to do is contact the ANZ bank and discuss whether you’re eligible to apply for a discounted loan!
