Despite being one of the biggest tourist destinations in the world, it is one of the poorest and least developed countries in the world with almost 1/4th of its population living below the poverty line. Nepal is a Himalayan country, located at the foot of the tallest mountain ranges in the world. That makes 80% of its land adverse to agricultural activities. As Nepal’s climate is deeply influenced by ice-covered Himalayan Mountain, it is prone to natural disasters. Its society is deeply overshadowed by religious norms and a feudalistic lifestyle that promotes gender and caste discrimination that leading to large-scale underdevelopment in Nepal.

Volunteers Initiative Nepal (VIN) is a non-profit NGO that is based in Kathmandu. It is predominantly engaged in volunteer work in the rural areas of Nepal. The organization’s primary aim is to uplift the living standard of rural and marginalized sections of Nepal through a fair, inclusive & holistic development program. International Long and Middle Term Voluntary Service (LMTV) is growing rapidly worldwide, particularly in Asia, and contributing substantially to the development of the people and regions that desperately need assistance. These voluntary organizations work both locally as well as do volunteer work abroad also. These organizations through their development and humanitarian programs are making a unique impact on the living standard of the people involved environmentally, culturally, and sustainably. Through these development programs, there is an understanding of intercultural faith and friendship getting observed. It is also recognized as one of the most effective tools for building the “global talent” expected by many universities, businesses, and governments.
In the case of the VIN, it has emerged as one of the most trusted and efficient local volunteer organizations and is also involved in Volunteer work abroad. Women and children are at the core of the VIN development initiative. It pays particular attention to the issues of women and children and innovates its program through research and national and international volunteering. The holistic and integrated development approach of the last decade and a half has been proven to promote equality, economic prosperity, and basic human rights.
VIN’s initiatives are executed by a team of dedicated, trained, and professional staff who are recruited by the organization after passing through careful and stringent recruitment processes and stages. VIN funds and implements medium- to long-term sustainable community-based volunteer service projects that focus on the most disadvantaged communities, especially women, children, and minority sections.
