Home Entrance
The home entrance is the most important part since this is the place from where people enter, and similarly, the energies.
The entrance should always open inwards; this indicates that the positive energy remains inside. Wooden doors are Vastu friendly; check out the door's hinges ;they shouldn't make any sound. If they do, you can grease them and stop the sound while closing or opening the door. A home that has a door painted in black is considered Vastu friendly.
The door should be in a way that when you open it, you should face the north, eastor north-east direction.
Kitchen of a Home
The kitchen is another most important place which is the source of nutrition for every family member. Many problems begin with the kitchen if it doesn't have the right Vastu.
A kitchen which is in the southeast direction is always considered the best. In Hinduism, this is the direction of Lord Agni or fire, and since fire and kitchen are equal, southeast is the right direction.
· If you have kitchen appliances, these too should be in the southeast direction. The grocery items should be kept in the southwest.
· Another tip that you should pay attention to is that the water container should always be placed in the north, northeast, or east direction.
Positive Things to Keep in the House
There are endless things, according to Vastu, that ensure positive energy if you keep them in your home. However, keeping just a few gives enough assurance of a positive aura around you.
Bamboo plants such as lucky bamboo is a nice addition to a home which brings positive energy to a home. However, always check how many stalks are there in a bamboo plant.
A Buddha idol and a fountain work as the best providers of positive energy, which you can place in your hall or living room; the northeast is the right direction for placing water elements.
A horse shoe, salt lamp, or a Swastik also ensures positivity in a home. However, you should always ensure that you don't place these things in the wrong direction or place.
Things Not to Keep at Home
As there are positive things to keep at home, there are negative things too. Unknowingly we all place things in your home that harm the positivity there.
For example, the statue of Nataraja can be seen in many homes. This is not an ideal statue to place. The statue depicts the Tandava Nritya, which indicates destruction; hence it shouldn't be in homes.
Also, you may love greenery, or placing a few plants doesn’t feel like a big deal. But you should not keep the plants with thorns. Similarly, if you are a fan of art and love collecting paintings, you should skip keeping the paintings that show war scenes or some conflict.
Vastu-Doing the Kitchen
· A bedroom should be in the southwest direction; make sure the bedroom doesn't face the northeast or southeast zone.
· Hanging wind chimes to the window of the bedroom is considered auspicious.
· You can place some soothing flowers too until they are not dried.
· The bedroom should be painted with light colors.
· No mirror should face your bed, and there should be no temple in the bedroom.
The Living Room Tips
· In your home, the living room should face east, north, or northeast; living room facing northwest is also considered good.
· All the electronics such as TV and speakers should be placed in the south east section of the room.
· It will be favorable if you use light shades such as pink, white, cream, or beigey the living room.
