After being shelved for almost 24 months, the well-renowned Vivid Sydney, the celebration of ideas, music and ideas, is back again to set the city on fire! Tons of people from across the nation will flock to Sydney in the coming weeks to see the harbour city transform into a magical land of colours! With more than 200 events set to descend upon us, the festival is looking to be bigger and brighter than ever and will run from May 27 to June 18. If you have only limited time in your hands, keep a note of these attractions!

With the festival bursting with events and festivities, everyone will be on the hunt to secure that ultimate vantage point to catch all the action. Are you one of them? Then look no further! Get yourself a seat on the popular Vivid Cruises to get up-close views of the iconic Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Luna Park and much more, away from the busy crowd. The Lighting of the Sails of the Opera House is expected to be one of the main drawcrads of the event and you get front-row seats to witness this spectacle! From modern catamarans and premium glass boats to an authentic paddlewheeler, your options are plenty when it comes to the vessel of choice. Enjoy drinks and other beverages, which can be purchased from the fully licensed bar, or maybe even pair it with the sumptuous array of dishes!  A Sydney Vivid Cruise also sets the stage for you to capture those Instagram-worthy moments, so get your cameras ready at all times!

Vivid Sydney promises to be a massive-scale event with numerous festival firsts. The inaugural Vivid Sydney Dinner is looking to be a feast for all our senses with a fusion of light, music, ideas and mouth-watering cuisine that showcases the elements of ‘The Soul of The City’. The city’s most talented and diverse lineup of entertainers assemble to join forces with top chefs for what looks to be a game changer in the festival's history. They will showcase a menu which celebrates the best of Sydney through the freshest seasonal produce, and by matching it with exceptional wines and unique light projections. So get your friends and family together for this fantastic festival first. It would be wise to get your hands on your way in at the earliest!

This extravagant display of luminous light projections, uplifting music shows and deep-dive discussions will begin on the 27th of May, kicking off with the First Light. This powerful ceremony evokes interest in acknowledging our First Nations culture and will run for 20 minutes from 5.40 pm to 6pm in Campbells Cove. This moving event includes a welcome to Country, a Smoking Ceremony, a specially designed dance piece by NAISDA students and a pyrotechnic display. The pylons of Sydney Harbour Bridge will also form a  stunning display which will shed light on the Gadigal people and the country.

This year, the famous Light Walk will be the longest in its history, stretching an impressive 8km from the Central Station, around the Circular Quay, all the way to the Opera House. This means that there will be more room than ever before to explore all the light installations and creative art projections including over 200 LED sculptural birds guiding the way! Another massive-scale projection is the show stopping lightwork by the city’s own Mandylights which will see the iconic landmarks and towering architectures beaming a record 200+ searchlights across the city! All the CBD buildings along with the Cahill Expressway will also be linking the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge in riotous hues of vivid colours.
