And now, as we move forward to July, the coldest month of the year, it’s time for new activities and events to unfold, especially with the school holidays coming up. There’s no danger of being bored in the Emerald City and with our comprehensive list of some of the best school holiday activities, you’ll know how to easily make your kids engaged and entertained!

Lunch cruises on Sydney Harbour

Well, obviously you and your family have already enjoyed sights of the massive Sydney Harbour and its pretty waterfront attractions. Take to the waters on board a harbour cruise and give your kids an experience worth telling their friends when the school reopens. A day out on the waters is a glorious one, except when it isn't. You and your family get to cruise on some of the top vessels including the modern catamarans, premium glass boats and the classic paddlewheeler. Choose accordingly and set sail for a stunning sightseeing experience, along with a freshly prepared lunch and extensive beverage upgrades. Sip a drink and relax as the little ones enjoy the exclusive views of the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, the grinning moonface of Luna Park, Fort Denison and much more! The Sydney Harbour lunch cruises also acts as a refreshing short getaway from the daily city grind, making it an ideal choice for the entire family!

Luna Park

No school holidays are complete without a mandatory visit to Luna Park on Sydney Harbour. In fact, you can actually make a day out of it. This legendary Luna Park is one of the hottest tourist attractions in the city and gets especially busy during the holidays and for good reasons. The vaudeville decor, the carnival games and food, the adrenaline-inducing rides, the nostalgic themes and music and of course, the splendid views of Sydney’s sky and water. The park is the number one option when it comes to creating lasting memories with your kids and the best part is that the park can be enjoyed by anyone regardless of their age. Even if you're not up for a screaming sesh or not into winning prizes at the games section, you can always walk around and soak up the history of this classic theme park.

Biking

Sydney has plenty to see. As someone who’s been living here for the past couple of months, I still get awestruck by the number of new places and sights in and around the city I stumble upon on the regular. From intricate inner-city parks and gardens to pristine beaches, tracks and national parks, there’s always something or the other waiting for you to be discovered. This calls for some pedalling and exploration, and there’s no better way to do it than with your kids. There are plenty of cycling tracks inside Sydney, which you can explore over the course of time but perhaps the one you can start off with is the Bay Run. This 7km loop has everything you could dream for in a cruise ride–waterfront views, parks, coffee shops, fitness stations and more!
