Reasons to Visit Sydney, Australia 2022
Sydney has many reasons to add it on your itinerary including its skyline, the art culture, the iceberg pools, firework displays and much more!

For someone who likes to travel around the world and would like to believe that home will never be one place, the next sentence I'm about to say would be conflicting. Sydney is a city I wouldn't mind living in. And it is not just about the stunning landscape, beaches and iconic architecture. There’s quite a lot of other things that make this harbour city one of the best cities in the world. Few of them include the very multicultural population, the diverse culinary scenes, a vibrant nightlife and an incredible setting on a harbour. So if you haven't already acknowledged Sydney, here are some reasons you should do it ASAP!

The Skyline

Among the innumerable natural and man-made attractions Sydney houses, the city skyline is perhaps the one that caught my eye the most. I was extremely impressed with the view from a Sydney Harbour lunch cruise and the setting of the harbour makes it easy to soak in different views of the city. Why did I choose a cruise?  Apart from letting you enjoy picturesque views of the city skyline and the iconic Opera House and Harbour Bridge, a lunch cruise also offers you a delectable variety of freshly prepared food and drinks upgrades. You also get to choose from a variety of top vessels including a classic paddlewheeler, a premium glass boat and a multi-million dollar catamaran! This is also one of the main reasons the harbour cruise lunch is the best vantage point in the capital to enjoy the striking city skyline.

Iceberg Pools

If you have been in the city for a while now, you may have already heard about the iconic Bondi Beach. This is a tourist hotspot with breezy blue waters, vast yellow sands and a lively cafe scene. Just south of the beach you can access arguably the most photographed pool in the world, the Bondi Icebergs. A staple in Sydney’s tourism, this impressive rock pool on the ocean front has been inviting tourists from across the globe for more than a 100 years! And despite its luxury allure, the entry fee is roughly seven dollars for an adult day pass! This is a must-visit for people looking for the ideal Sydney experience and some instagram-worthy shots to go with it.

Awe-Inspiring Art

There may not be as much experimental art as you may come across in other Australian cities like Melbourne but Sydney does have a wide range of art that will leave you awe-struck. For starters, there’s the annual Sculpture by the Sea which is a world-famous art display taking place every year during Australian Spring. It is the largest free-to-the-public sculpture exhibition in the world, inviting over 520,000 art admirers from different parts of the planet. If you're looking for a more sophisticated experience discovering the indigenous artworks of the nation, head to the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Wentworth Art Galleries. I loved both for its interpretive, abstract and radiant display of aboriginal art along with the brilliant architecture. Dubbed as the city’s most important public art gallery, The Gallery of NSW is also a not-to-be-missed veue which houses a serious collection of Australian, European and Asian modern art.

Epic Fireworks

Not everyone might be lucky enough to spend New Year’s Eve here and catch the city’s world-renowned firework display. But the last day of the year is not the only time you can witness these spectacles if you time your visit accordingly. Check out the Darling Harbour schedule next time you plan a visit to get to know about the upcoming events and holidays and catch a Saturday night fireworks show here!
