How To Own a Weekend in Sydney 2022
How To Own a Weekend in Sydney 2022
Still can’t find the perfect way to spend a weekend in Sydney? Check out these tried and tested activities that are sure to live up to the hype.

The number of times I think about Sydney, even though I’ve been there more than a dozen times, is unhealthy. This cosmopolitan capital of New South Wales is the real-life manifestation of all those Hollywood classics including The Matrix, The Great Gatsby and THAT power ranger movie. In such a city, finding an activity or a venue to let out your weekend antics is pretty much a walk in the park, even so, it can be a bit overwhelming for first-timers. Given you're looking for something that will be a bang for the buck, here are some of my go-to things to do on a regular weekend in Sydney that will guarantee an unforgettable experience.

Check out the raddest Bareboat charters in Sydney

Bust out your coolest kicks, put on the drippiest fits and don your slickest hats, because there’s a party on the water! Sydney is a harbour city and going for a water activity is one of the favourite pastimes of Sydneysiders. Go all out and let your mates celebrate life on your own private boat on Sydney Harbour with a boat charter. Bareboats are ideal for such private parties as they can be customised on your own terms, catering to your budget and preferences. It is also a quick fix to escape from the busy sounds and vibes of the city. Imagine laying back on the outer decks of your boat with a drink in hand, exchanging endless laughs and conversations, as the mesmerising icons of Sydney slide right past you. Now that’s a weekend in Sydney! Don’t even think twice if you're going with a bareboat charter on Sydney Harbour!

Assemble your soldiers for paintball

Who doesn't love a bit of ball action? But playing with these balls can be rough and will leave you with a bruise or two. Line up your troops for some paintball action! It’s your ultimate opportunity to let your inner kids out! Sydney has a couple of paintball joints in and around the Central Business District (CBD). If you’re already an amateur in the game, you probably know that this ain’t just another skirmish of physicality. To come out on top of your rivals, it takes more than agility and brute force - you’ll be forced to use a whole lot of tactics like hiding in the trenches, staying camouflaged, waiting for the right moment to strike at the enemy. Get ready to duck, weave and sprint! It’s going to be a day that will match all your tales from the pub!

Live out Baywatch

Sydney and Beaches. Name a more iconic duo. With more than a hundred beaches, bays, secluded coves and rock pools, it is safe to say that Sydney is inviting you to come take a dip into the cold waters. There are more than enough reasons to take your squad to the waters - it could be a break from the daily grinds, it could be a magic potion for your physical and mental aches - honestly, what’s more healing than the ocean? An iconic way to go about the famous Sydney beaches is to ride the waves. Most beaches within the city CBD have decent waves, ideal for grabbing a board and hopping onto the waters. Even if you’re  a newbie you can learn to stand on a board in no time with the help of surfing lessons, which can be found in the famous Bondi, Manly and in the Northern Beaches.

Bonus

While this ain’t as near as what Sydney is all about, it’s more than enough to capitalise an awesome weekend. Some other tried and tested activities I have done in the past couple of years include - tagging along on a whiskey tasting, spending the night in a sports bar, attending a race day, laser tags, quad biking through Sydney’s bushlands and scaling The Bridge.
