It’s almost time to bid goodbye to the spring blossoms and abandon our jackets and dive head-first into Sydney’s sun-sational days and night! But we still have a couple of weeks left! While we look forward to the occasional splashes in the famous Bondi or Manly, we’re also leaning towards exciting shindigs in the city's underground bars or a refreshing time out on the famous harbour.
While we’re all for whiling away hours in the pub, there’s still plenty of ways you can make the most of the city’s natural splendour and culture. So if you’re down, check out this brief list of few of the top things to do in the coming weeks.
The impending party
A party will always be on the cards in Sydney, especially if the weekend is fast approaching. If you’re keen on getting away from your routine life, get your drinks on and want to bust a move or two on the floor for hours, then how about you stray away from your regular turn-up joints and go with a party boat hire on Sydney Harbour. Whether your friend’s turning 30, someone’s hosting a bachelor’s, or it’s just the usual weekend shindigs, a private boat experience will set new standards for partying! Choose your trusted operator, pick your vessel and tailor it to your preferences – a boat party hire in Sydney is that simple!
Put on your art glasses
Who doesn’t love art? No, I’m not talking about those bizarre paintings hanging in the boring hallways of an art gallery (not that there’s anything wrong with that!), but the giant sculptures exuding creativity and a prepotent aura, every once in a year. That’s right! We’re talking about Sculpture by the Sea which has already kicked off from late October, but you can still get your art-critque on before November 7. Make your way through the spectacular 2 km coastal walk from Bondi to Tamarama, which will be transformed into a surreal outdoor exhibition of eye-catching art installations and sculptures (over 100 of them approx). You simply don’t want to miss this one!
Say ‘Howzaat!’ in SCG
One of the world’s most celebrated world cups is back with a bang after two long years, the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. This time it’s being hosted in the many states of Australia including Sydney, which plays host to several much-awaited clashes. If you’re a fan of the national sport, there’s no better time to show love to your country! Soak up the world cup atmosphere in the SCG (Sydney Cricket Ground), watch your team in live action, and enjoy the camaraderie within the crowd! Even if you’re a traveller, this is a great pastime activity as nothing says “I love this land’ than heading to a famous stadium and screaming your lungs out! Just make sure you cheer for the right team!
Grab yourself a steal at a Collector’s
Adding swag to your wardrobe doesn't always have to be about spending hundreds of dollars on trending tags, especially if you’re in the vicinity of Rozelle Public School in Darling Street. For more than two decades, the schoolyard has been used as hunting grounds during the weekend for fashion geeks, and vintage item collectors. The place will be transformed into a multi-layered second-hand open market brimming with collections that will cost you no more than a coffee! But here, it’s all about the chase – you might need to dig down into piles of old-school skirts, and T-shirts to find what you really want! And when you’re done scouring the entire area, head to the top right corner of the market to enjoy yourself some refreshments.
