What is the Champions League
What is the Champions League
A useful definition of what the Champions League is and stands for.

The UEFA Champions League was previously known as the European Cup and this is the top domestic club competition in Europe, with the leading teams across the continent battling it out for this prestigious honour and we always see a healthy battle between the clubs who duke it out in the group stage before then competing in the knockout phase.

Some of the most recent Champions League winners have been Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Liverpool, with the English clubs threatening to dominate due to the fact that Manchester City are usually priced as the outright favourites to claim the title although that is a feat that hasn’t been achieved under Pep Guardiola at the time of writing. There are other resources of interest such as the football news and guides online.

We see the Champions League clubs awarded with a seeding and that means that the leading teams are evenly spread out which means that they often find themselves in the last sixteen of the competition, with the away goals rule having recently been abolished which means that we should see a more attacking brand of football.
