Reset your password

To reset your password if you are not logged into Facebook:

1. Touch Forgot your password.

2. Enter the email, mobile phone number, full name, or username associated with your account, then touch Search.

3. Follow the instructions on the screen.

4. For security reasons, you cannot use the same mobile phone number that you use for two-factor authentication to help you reset your password. You must have a different mobile phone number or email address added to your account to reset your password if you ever need it.

Get help from your friends to log in:

Your friends on Facebook can also help you by sending you a Recovery Code with a special URL Facebook.com/Login/Identify, which you can use to log back into your account. Here's how to reset your Facebook account with the help of a friend or family member.

Step 1: go to the option that says "Security and Login" in the settings menu

Step 2: Now scroll down to choose 3-5 friends you want to contact when blocked and then click "Edit"

Step 3: Next, click "Choose Friends" and follow the on-screen instructions to log back into your Facebook account.

Step 4: Once you are logged in, you can go ahead and update your information such as email address or phone number, and then reset your password as well.

Visit the Facebook website using any web browser.

Enter the phone number and select the forgotten password.

Enter your username or phone number and search for your account during the account recovery process.

Select a phone number to restore your Facebook account.

Send the security code by text message to the contact number.

Method 1: check if you are already logged in:

If you are already logged into Facebook from any device, you can recover your account without having to reset your password.

Click the "down" arrow in the upper right corner of the Facebook.com/login/identify page

Go to settings

Click Security & Login

Tap Edit and then Change password

Enter your current password and create a new one

Select Save changes

Method 2: use trusted contacts to get your Facebook account back:

Your trusted contacts will help you recover your Facebook account. All you need to do is identify your trusted contacts. The step-by-step method is shown below:

Login to your Facebook account

Now from the Facebook home screen, go to Settings, which is present in the upper right corner of the screen.

In the left corner, click Security & Login

Then select the Choose friends area.

In the section What are trusted contacts? In the dialog box, select Choose Trusted Contacts.
