On May 24th, 2022, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) held its weekly round draw. Invitations to the draw were sent to the subcategories of Skilled Worker International Graduate, Entry Level, and Semi-Skilled.

On May 24th, 2022, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) held its weekly round draw. Invitations to the draw were sent to the subcategories of Skilled Worker International Graduate, Entry Level, and Semi-Skilled.

115 British Columbia immigrants were urged to apply for a provincial nomination, which included a tech category, in the targeted draw. Healthcare professionals received 11 invitations, as did the targeted NOC for Childcare: Early Childhood Educators and Assistants (NOC 4214).

The BC PNP will send out invitations to those in the registration pool to apply for the program on a regular basis. ITAs are created using the information provided in registrations. The information provided in the registrations will be used to rank, select, and invite individuals who are most likely to satisfy B.C.'s economic and labour market demands based on one or more of the following characteristics:

  1. Educational attainment – level and field of study, as well as a study location
  2. Language skills
  3. Occupation
  4. Length of work experience and skill level
  5. Wage and/or skill level of job offer
  6. A desire to live, work and settle in a specific location.
 

Factors that meet specific labour market demands in British Columbia or that support government pilot projects and efforts are referred to as strategic priorities. Invitations to specific individuals can be sent. Invitations can be tailored to fulfil BC government aims such as aiding certain economic sectors, boosting regional immigration, facilitating strategic pilot projects, and maintaining program integrity.

Based on the information provided in their registrations, candidates who are most likely to meet the economic and labour market demands of British Columbia will be ranked, selected, and invited. The minimum score required for the tech worker draw was 85 while the minimum score for Healthcare and Childcare professionals was 60.

So this is good news for IT and healthcare workers interested in PR in Canada, particularly BC PNP, as they have just released an invitation for new tech immigration and other NOC on May 24th, 2022!
