The Economics major at Ashoka University is designed to provide students with an understanding of how people, businesses and governments make decisions about economic issues. Many of the predominant concerns of a modern society—economic growth, employment, standards of living, inflation, inequality, poverty, pollution---are primarily economic in nature. The Economics major will provide students with the analytical and methodological tools to understand the factors that determine such economic phenomena and how a society seeks to improve upon its present economic condition.
