How to Find MCI Recognised Ultrasound Courses in India
Only radiologists and gynaecologists were initially permitted to perform sonography tests on pregnant women. A 2013 Act, however, allowed MBBS doctors who had completed six months of specialised training to perform this diagnostic test. However, the act left ambiguity regarding training, resulting in the proliferation of unlicensed training centres.
This was a setback for the radiology field because doctors must be radiology specialists. A Supreme Court order, however, has compelled states to implement the rules and mandate six-month training for doctors. As a result, approximately 20% of doctors who currently perform ultrasound are classified as PC-PNDT. This means that approximately 400 physicians will be required to take an additional exam in order to perform ultrasound.
There is a high demand for qualified sonographers in India, and a postgraduate degree is strongly advised to ensure a stable career. Sonographers can work in a variety of fields, such as paediatric echocardiography, foetal echocardiography, and eye imaging. In addition to these jobs, they may be able to teach in a hospital.
Our Ultrasound Courses will teach students how to use the advanced ultrasound equipment in clinical practice.
