There are three main steps which need to be followed to learn the German language. It is not mandatory to follow my strategy but at least you can have a basic idea of how you can learn German and how it can help you out in future.

First I would like to tell you that learning German has so many benefits. It will create a lot of job opportunities as well as it is helpful to study in Germany.

Three predominant steps to Learn German Language:

1. Important words

2. Basic Grammar

3. Talk regularly

IMPORTANT WORDS: If you are also a newbie in your journey of learning German then first start with important and basic words of German. Try to learn those words and start using them in your conversation. Sometimes people directly want to learn high vocab and they want to speak initially instead of starting from scratch. So it's advisable to start with the important basic vocabulary of German.

For example: Good morning, Hello, Good day, Please, etc. are the words which we use in our daily routine. So start with these words and also start using them in your daily routine then it would be easy for you to learn those words and start your journey.

There are few words translated in German.

HELLO - HALLO

GOOD MORNING - GUTEN MORGEN

DAY - TAG

PLEASE - BITTLE

THANKS - DANKE

YES - JA

NO - NEIN

WATTER - WASSER

BREAD AND BUTTER - BROT UND WASSER

Start from this kind of basic words in German which will help you to learn

this language. Learn pronunciation of these words so that you can practice more and more to speak those words so that you can have good command on pronunciation and you don't need to feel embarrassed in front of others.  You can also start using these words in your writing and speaking activity.

BASIC GRAMMAR:- German language is a simpler language than you might have imagined. Its grammar is also very easy and another step in the learning journey is to learn basic grammar. A learner must have the knowledge regarding the grammar topics so that you can converse in the right way. As if you'll not learn grammar rules then you'll frame wrong sentences which will be bad for you.

After learning grammar you will have good sentence making skills and you'll not do many mistakes.

Few examples of grammar rules:

1. German verbs come second most of the time

Not to worry! One of the most basic grammar ideas in German is verb position. The word that describes an action, or the verb, is usually found in the second position of a phrase.

2. A German noun should always be capitalize:

Nouns(name, place, thing and person) should be capitalized in German language.

for example: Ich liebe den Sommer. (I love summer.)

In the above example summer is the noun and that's why it has been capitalized while in english it's not.

3. German has 4 cases: Four cases are the subject, direct object, indirect object, or possessive object. Article (a, an, the) use according to these cases. When a noun is the direct object, indirect object, or subject of a sentence, the case of the noun changes. We may need to alter the definite or indefinite article depending on the noun's gender and sentence case.

In the same way there are various German grammar rules which a learner should learn first and then go further. Grammar plays a vital role in any language; without grammar you can't learn a language. It is the backbone of any language.

There are various German language courses in which teachers have designed a proper grammar syllabus so that you can understand them easily.

You can take reference from that but whether you are learning on your own or through any institute you will need to learn grammar. If you are learning on your own you can take reference of any German language class on youtube.

TALK REGULARLY:- A great method to apply what you have learned in class and get more feedback on your speaking is to interact with a German speaker. By doing this, you will gradually broaden your vocabulary because they will frequently use terms that you are unfamiliar with and you will pick up on their tone and inflection tendencies. Now you have learned important words, basic grammar and other things too and it's your turn to start talking. As talking is the only way through which you can improve your language skills surely. Only speaking is an activity through which you can improve a lot and you will also have a great confidence.

There are various ways of talking in German with natives. There are various apps as well through which you can talk with a native German from any place.

These apps are:

Tandem.net:- It is a three million strong global community where members assist one another in mobile language learning. Your discussion partners are constantly available for you on their mobile phone or other portable device, which makes this language exchange so unique. The Google Play store and iTunes both provide free downloads of the application. There are also German tutors with formal training available for private instruction.

Hello Talk:-Those who want to learn a foreign language can connect with one another using the mobile app HelloTalk. You may always rely on this app's voice-to-text functionality to convert voice messages into text messages if you have trouble comprehending voice messages. No matter how far away your chat partners are located, the application also lets you make and receive free phone calls to your smartphone from them. There are more than a million people who have enrolled, but recent changes appear to have turned off some members who do not enjoy having to pay for services that were previously free.

Just like these there are many other apps and platforms which help in connecting with native speakers of any language and you can learn through those platforms.
