How to Iron a Waterproof Jacket
Unzip your freshly laundered jacket and drape one side of it over your ironing board to dry.
Reduce the temperature of your iron to its hottest setting.
Cover the part of your jacket that will be ironed with a towel to prevent snagging.
With your hands, smooth the towel out a little more.
Check to ensure that your iron's steam feature is not activated.
Steam has the potential to meet your jacket. It's important to drain your iron's water chamber if you can't switch off the steam feature on your iron. One layer of the jacket should only be ironed through at a time. When ironing through two layers, it is possible to develop creases on one side.
Using your hands, flatten the back of your jacket.
Starting towards the middle of the jacket, iron it in one smooth stroke parallel to the zipper, starting near the edge.
There is just one direction for iron. Each stroke should be made in the same direction as the previous one. Only when you reach a new piece of the jacket should you change your route.
Take the towel out of your jacket and place it on the floor.
Examine your own work.
If it appears that the iron had no effect, you might increase the heat of your iron by one setting and try ironing again to see if it makes a difference.
Upon completion of your job, put another piece of the jacket flat on the ironing board, re-cover it with the towel, and repeat the process until the entire jacket has been rendered wrinkle-free.
Keep in mind to switch the iron off once you've completed your task.
It is not necessary to push down with the iron. Allow the iron's heat and weight to do the heavy lifting for you.
Keep the iron in motion at all times. Stopping in one location might result in cloth that has been burned.
