When asked “What do you do?” at a social gathering, my standard reply was a factual description of my current ventures. I have been giving the same answer ever since I got into things worth quoting them as my venture. But a day following the gathering, delving deep into the depth of vicious thoughts, I felt how flawed the approach is! All of a sudden, I felt the storm thundering within my mind. We should talk about our aspirations, not what pays the month’s rent. This made me feel that “What you want to do?” approach is far better than “What do you do?” approach. There are instances in our lives where we find ourselves close to our goals but what stands in our way is the willingness to confront and say what we want. When it comes to the part where an individual has to pitch his talents, the individual should be bold enough to share what he wants. His resume says what he has done and for a fact, that’s the past. The happiest and most successful people have a sense of what they want to do next or how they want to grow. If sometime we happen to meet Elon Musk, he won’t be talking about PayPal; he would probably be talking about how he plans to grow things.
