Using the public transport system means that the students are not capable of missing the bus. If one misses the bus, he or she can find another which helps in saving their time. Public transportation helps in boosting GPA and reducing the extent of absenteeism. An example which the Lone-Star Harris University can borrow from is the Metro Transit in Minneapolis/St. Paul’s pilot program. After this program, it was observed that the pass users had truancy rates of 23%, which was lower compared to those who did not use public transport (Clark 193). They also had grade points which were higher than the averages by 0.28.
