City Palace : - This is one of the major highlights of the pink city which is located just 3 kilometers away from heart of the city center. This famous palace was built by Raja Jai Singh II in 1729 AD. This palace cum museum has the celebrated Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal located towards the north east side of Jaipur. The first one has been made a museum which houses the artifacts, weaponry, textile etc.

 

Amber Fort : - This famous fort erected on the hill top is located nearly 10 kilometers away from the city of Jaipur and was built by King Man Singh in 1592. Later on many magnificent palaces were interpolated by Raja Jai Singh I. This fort built in red sand stone and white marble is based on the unique blend of Indo-Islamic architecture. This has much affinity to the Agra Fort and Gwalior Fort and has similar plans of Diwan-i-Aam, Diwan-i-Khas and royal palaces.

Hawa Mahal : - Another good spot for the tourists to visit in Jaipur is Hawa Mahal or the wind palace which is located just 4 kilometers away from the hub of the city. It was built by Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799 out of red sand stone. It served as a recreation place for the ladies to enjoy the breeze and the view of the dawn located colourful bazaars. It has more than 900 windows to provide ventilation.

Jal Mahal : - Jal Mahal as the name signifies is a beautiful water palace made right on middle of the Man Sagar Lake which was built by Maharaja Jai Singh II. The king devised it as his hunting lodge and to provide a relief in the summer against the scorching heat. It has affluent always and Jasmine gardens all around which impress everybody.

Jantar Mantar Observatory : - Located very close to the city palace Jantar Mantar is one of the oldest stone observatories of India. It was erected by Sawai Raja Jai Singh who was himself a great astronomer of the age. His passion for astronomy and Zodiac led him built the largest stone observatory of the world.

Albert Hall Museum : - If you are a lover of culture and history buffs do not miss the opportunity to visit the famous Albert Hall Museum in Jaipur. It was built in 1887 and named after the Prince of Wales, Albert. This museum has the notable exhibits, artifacts, jewellery, textiles and also Egyptian mummy.

Nahargarh Fort : - This another fort close to Amer Fort lies at the out skirts of Jaipur and provides rich cultural heritage. From the strategic point of view this fort was very important place for the rulers and has massive defense system with high walls and other security arrangements. This fort has nice scenic view and good place for hiking. The famous queen Baradarig is highly ornate.

Jaigarh Fort : - Similar to Nahargarh fort Jaipur has another immersive fort called Jaigarh fort which has witnessed several coronations, wars and historical events. This fort has the world’s biggest canon- Jaivana. Jaigarh is also a favorite place for the adventure lovers.

Galtaji : - Galta ji situated near Moti Dungari is based on the Aravali ranges. This temple is set amidst the natural springs and lush green vegetation. This is also known as monkey temple on account of large presence of Makaks. The temple has unique architecture and several pavilions and water kunds add charm to this place.

Birla Temple : - Birla temple in Jaipur is dedicated to lord Laxmi Narayan and made out of pure white marble. The interiors of the temples depict the scenes from Hindu legends. This temple on account of its magnificent architecture attracts a large number of Jaipur.

 

Govind Dev ji Temple : - Govind Dev ji Temple is a famous Hindu temple dedicated to lord Krishna. Originally the shree vigrah used to be at the temple of the same name in Vrindavan and during the mughal time the king of Jaipur shifted it to Jaipur at the present place. This temple is visited by millions of devotees every year.
