Agra fort is just magnificient!! a lot info is available about its architecture n history in books n internet but i strongly recommend to visit the fort in person and observe carefully n keenness the following:
- living area in the Diwa-ne-khaas : perfect room where Akbar had goodtimes wid his beloved. the room is covered wid walls on 3 sides n in between is a cascade like fountain not exactly a fountain because water flows in it and it is suppose to evaporate which causes cooling and the room gets cooled. i was impressed with this engineering and architectures marvelous idea.
- the section which has rooms for his wives and on terrace which when u reach the Taj mahal is in full scene and clearly visible which creates a very romantic vibe.
- there are lot more things which can glad, curious, but u need be inquisitive to guide coz even though they know a lot things but tell very limited maybe they get tired saying same things

It's interesting how the capital has been shifting between Delhi and Agra under the administration of different empires.
-
- Agra: When Babur defeated Ibrahim Lodi in the Battle of Panipat, he took over his enemy's capital of Agra. Agra had been the capital of the Delhi Sultanate for a while then and Babur thought that it would be easier to administer his new empire with the same capital. His son, Humayun, was crowned emperor in Agra.
- Delhi: After he was driven out to exile by Sher Shah Suri, Delhi was made the capital.
- Agra: After the fall of the Suri dynasty, Humayun reclaimed the throne and made Agra his capital once more. His death nearly resulted in the end of the empire as Hemu had started an uprising and had captured Agra and Delhi.
- Delhi: Historians debate about where the capital of Hemu was or would have been, but it's likely to have been established as Delhi as he claimed royal status after the capture of the city, thus underlying its importance.
- Agra: Akbar defeated Hemu in the Second Battle of Panipat and restored Agra as his capital as he considered it more important than Delhi and was responsible for building a fort in Agra out of sandstone. The capital was shifted to Fathehpur Sikri and Lahore under his rule, and eventually after his demise, Jahangir shifted the capital back to Agra.
- Delhi: The Red Fort was built by Shah Jahan after he had decided to shift his capital from Agra to the newly built capital of Shahjahanabad (Old Delhi). It remained the capital of the empire until it ended under Bahadur Shah Zafar, who was deposed to Burma by the British.
