HOW DO YOU WORK OUT YOUR CRS POINTS?
Knowing your CRS points before completing your Express Entry profile can help you better plan your trip to Canada.
Do you know that having a high complete ranking system score might increase your chances of receiving a Canada PR visa invitation right away? The CRS is a point-based scoring system that the Canadian government uses to evaluate immigration petitions received through the Express Entry System. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) uses the express entry system to process skilled worker applications for three economic migration programmes. Express entry is only a method for managing applications, not an immigration scheme.
Applications for the following economic immigration categories are processed through express entry:
• The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
• The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
• The Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
Several Provincial Nominee Programs are also in line with Canada's expedited entry programme.
The CRS points are awarded based on characteristics that the Canadian government believes will help you prosper in Canada, including the economy and labour market. All candidates are given points based on factors such as education, job experience, skill level, English language competence, age, and so on. You will also be awarded points if you include your spouse in your application. There are 1,200 scores for the CRS. The majority of people get between 400 and 500 points.
Even before submitting your profile to the Express Entry System, you will have a decent sense of your scores. There are various resources available to assist you in calculating your points and determining your eligibility for immigration to Canada. However, you will not receive your official results until you have completed and uploaded your whole profile to the online system.
Recognize the rating system
Including the spouse is one of the most important elements to consider when calculating CRS points. If your spouse already has a PR visa or citizenship in Canada, there is no need to include them in the application. If you add your spouse, you could expect to score 40 points worse in the fundamental human capital criteria than single people. If your spouse has a specific ability, such as language, you can utilise it to your advantage.
Age, job experience, education, language skills, and Canadian work experience are all important human capital variables. Aside from that, candidates are scored on their ability to transfer abilities, which includes international education and job experience. Other elements that contribute to your score include having a Canadian sibling, French language ability, Canadian schooling, a job offer from a Canadian business, and a provincial nomination.
According to the Comprehensive Ranking System, there are three major categories:
• Core/Human Capital Factors
• Spouse/Common-law partner
• Skills transferability
