Etihad cancellation policy
Per Etihad airways cancellation policy for 2021, only refundable tickets can be canceled and fully refunded. From the fare conditions mentioned on your ticket, you will know if you can cancel your ticket and, if so, how much you will be charged for canceling.
Refund conditions
- To qualify for a refund under the etihad airways flight cancellation policy, you must meet the following conditions:
- You must have purchased your ticket directly from Etihad Airlines or a travel agency in the United States, Canada, or the European Union (including the United Kingdom and Switzerland).
- Your travel date must be between October 1, 2020 and September 30, 2021.
- You must request a refund no later than 14 days before your flight departs.
- Etihad's cancellation policy allows you to claim a full refund of the unused portion of your ticket if your flight is delayed at least 5 hours and you decide not to travel.
- You can also get a full refund if you book an airline ticket to or from the United States at least 7 days before your flight's scheduled departure and cancel it within 24 hours of purchase.
Etihad Airways' ticket cancellation policy also allows you to cancel your ticket and claim a full refund if you have a fully refundable ticket and the fare conditions of your ticket state so.
Etihad cancellation and refund policy
Refunds typically take 14-30 business days to be reflected on your card / bank statement.
- Your ticket is refundable (with or without cancellation fee) if it has not been used.
- Refunds and cancellations cannot be reversed.
- Refunds are subject to the fare rules of the ticket.
- Your ticket must have been issued at least 5 days before and purchased through a single credit card.
- Refunds will be processed to the original form of payment. If you no longer use the credit card with which you paid, you must contact Etihad.
- Fees for services and accessories are non-refundable.
24 Hours Etihad Cancellation Policy
If cancellation is made within 24 hours of booking and at least 7 days prior to scheduled departure date and time, passengers can receive full payment. However, after confirming the cancellation, the process cannot be reversed.
Prior to cancellation, passengers must ensure that their tickets are refundable, that they have not been used or changed. Tickets must also be purchased with a single credit card and issued more than 5 days ago.
Passengers cannot cancel tickets if there are less than 2 hours to departure. If a passenger cancels the ticket within 96 hours of departure, an additional 10% will be applied to the applicable cancellation fee.
The amount of the refund depends on the fare rules applicable to the ticket at the time of booking. However, cancellation of Etihad non-refundable tickets is not applicable for refund.
Refunds will be credited to the same credit card that was used to purchase the ticket. The refund can take between 14 and 30 business days to process and appear on the cardholder's card / bank statement.
The reservation fee for ancillary services and global service is non-refundable.
A Guest Service Fee (GSF) applies when the refund is made through the Etihad Contact Center or local Etihad offices.
In the event of the death of a passenger or immediate family member, the reimbursement fee will not be applied. But official documentation will be required.
