Printed labels, including those that are highly visible immediately to drivers and passengers, serve a vital role across the automotive industry, albeit in a small proportion, in delivering important information, safety notifications, and cautions.
According to Len Holtkamp, worldwide director, durables at Avery Dennison Label & Packaging Materials, an automobile has around one square metre of labels. Automotive OEMs apply only a small fraction, 10-15%, of the automotive labels, the majority of which are visible to car owners, such as tyre pressure and warning labels. The remainder are typically identification labels found on car components that are not always visible.
