RuneScape has seen a significant expansion from its browser-based origins in recent years with Steamforged's board game being the latest offering from Jagex OSRS Gold. In an interview, a variety of Jagex employees discussed the process of transforming the mobile version of RuneScape into an all-platform release in September, the game was launched.
Jagex collaborated with the creator of the popular Old School RuneScape mod RuneLite HD to create the HD version accessible to all players. Steamforged's forthcoming board game will give RuneScape's passionate fanbase another possibility to get into all the adventures of Gielinor and create their own adventure.
Runescape developer Jagex's publishing unit has picked up an exciting independent game under it's Jagex Partners label, which makes Melvor Idle an indie that is no longer. The idler game, similar to games such as Clicker Heroes or Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms, was released on Steam this year, and carries its influences from Jagex's flagship Runescape extremely proudly.
Melvor Idle is a detailed multi-track idle game that will attempt to recreate "the essential elements in the RuneScape franchise in a manner that can be played without a lot of effort," says the publisher. It's a very well-designed idle game that comes with plenty of things to craft and progress, as well being a focus on avoiding games that have prestige mechanics that need a restart.
Jagex was reportedly aware of the project at the beginning of 2020. A lot of the publisher's staff liked it before its officially Steam launch in the month of October the same year. As it is obvious the developer is thrilled to be collaborating with the creators of one of their most loved games. "Being able to work on this with Jagex to directly work on this has been a dream that has come true osrs items," said Brendan Malcolm, the solo developer who is behind Melvor Idle Studio Games by Malcs.
