Pasta Market

Pasta is a generally loved delicacy, with a variety of noodle dishes available in almost every country. It's mein in China, udon in Japan, pierogi in Poland, and spaetzle in Germany. Pasta's popularity can be ascribed to a number of characteristics, including its ease of manufacture, small storage footprint, ease of preparation, and high content of complex carbs.

Gruel and porridge were later replaced by more appealing unleavened bread cakes in ancient Etruscan cuisine. These cakes are thought to be the forerunners of pasta, according to food historians. During his travels in the Orient in the 1300s, the Italian traveller Marco Polo is widely credited with bringing the noodle back to Italy. Some argue, however, that a detailed review of Polo's documents reveals that he enjoyed a particular type of noodle in China, which he compared favourably to the pasta he was used to in Italy.
