Network-as-a-service (NaaS) is a network transport connectivity model that allows network services to be delivered virtually over the internet on a metered basis (pay-per-use). NaaS providers provide end users with necessary network hardware on a subscription basis, resulting in a complete network solution. Consumers must only pay for services that they use. Network operators provide network resources such as optical switches, IP networks, BoD Domains, and routers in the Network-as-a-service model. Some of the major benefits of NaaS include providing scalability and elasticity of service through which the network can be upgraded, providing a strong layer of security when accessing the cloud, and operating in the background.
