If the leaked images and the intense rumours are anything to go by, Oneplus 9 is turning out to be a stunning smartphone. The Chinese smartphone maker has set its sight on not only enhancing the design quotient, but also amping up the cameras. As always, the upcoming OnePlus smartphone is going to pose a huge threat to all the flagships that are often rated as overpriced.

Going by several leaked images, the OnePlus 9 will sport a curved back panel and a flat front display. While the volume rocker will be on the left, the power button and alert sliders will be on the right. No prizes for guessing, the USB Type-C port, speaker grille, microphone, and SIM tray section will remain at the bottom.
At a time when the Samsung Galaxy S21 Series and iPhone 12 Series are in a tight race to beat one another in terms of a large screen, OnePlus doesn’t want to be left behind.
Several leaked images of the OnePlus 9 have given enough indication that the smartphone will sport a 6.66″ OLED display, complete with a hole punch in the upper left corner of the screen. The OnePlus 9 variant is expected to flaunt a little larger 6.7” screen.

A number of leaked images have revealed that the OnePlus 9 will feature a huge camera bump on the back, housing three lenses and a flash. If rumours are to be believed, the smartphone will boast 50 MP + 20 MP + 12 MP rear cameras.
As for the selfie camera, the smartphone will come with a solid 16 MP front camera.
According to reports, OnePlus 9 will be available with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. We also expect the device to be available with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Besides, don’t be surprised if the Chinese smartphone maker offers 16GB RAM coupled with 512GB storage as the top tier variant of the OnePlus 9.
The smartphone will run Android 11 OS, aka the latest version of OxygenOS, out of the box.
When it comes to fast and wireless charging, OnePlus smartphones have always been among the best in the business. And guess what, the device will come with 30W fast wireless charging support. In fact, it is being widely touted as the first OnePlus device to support reverse wireless charging.
As someone who always prefers to have a convenient charging solution handy, we would welcome reverse wireless charging that offers the flexibility to power up small devices like earphones.
OnePlus 9 is claimed to feature a solid 4,500mAh battery and will support a 65W fast charging solution. Pretty much on the expected line, the device will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G SoC and have 5G connectivity onboard.

Though there is not much confirmation about what will be the price of the OnePlus 9, we expect the device to start at Rs. 46,999. Of course, the top tier model like OnePlus 9 Pro will be priced higher, at around Rs. 55, 000.
If rumour mills hit the jackpot, we will get to see OnePlus 9 on 25th January 2021.
Having tried our hands on every single OnePlus model at our OnePlus repair centre, we can vouch for the impressive build and the fluid software experience that the device provides. However, there is one department where the OnePlus offerings have lacked the firepower in terms of camera quality, as compared to the likes of Pixels and iPhones.
