We ask you to shower or bathe freshly with completely clean skin, without lotions, oils, creams or fragrances of any kind before entering.
If there is excess hair in the area to be treated, we recommend shaving the area before the treatment.
Avoid sun exposure on the treated area and do not use UV tanning beds for two weeks before treatment.
Use a broad spectrum sunblock with an SPF of 30 or higher(rain or shine) daily.
Do not use topical products that cause photosensitivity (eg,hydroxy acids, salicylic acid, retinols and benzoyl peroxide) in the treatment areas for three days before treatment. Use a mild cleanser and lotion on treated areas.
Follow the instructions regarding all oral prescription medications we provided during your medical laser consultation. If you are taking new or different medications, including antibiotics, please contact our office prior to your appointment.
Do not leave Botox injections, dermal filler injections, chemical peels or microdermabrasion in the treatment area for at least 14 days before laser skin tightening.
What to expect during your laser skin tightening appointment
If we determine after the consultation that you are a good candidate, we will continue with the treatment. Your laser technician will start by asking a few pertinent questions about your recent health history to ensure there are no contraindications to treatment. The technician will discuss your treatment needs and at that point you can let us know specifically which areas you would like to treat. The area to be treated is cleaned and prepared for treatment. Your technician will walk you through the treatment to make sure you don't have any surprises.
While receiving laser skin tightening, you must wear safety glasses. You may still be able to see a flash of light, but your eyes will be completely covered. The laser technicians also wear safety glasses. During the treatment, all parts of the body that are not lasered are covered with clothing. Only the areas undergoing laser treatment are exposed. What to Expect After Your Laser Skin Tightening Treatment
It is normal to experience redness and swelling in the treatment area after tightening the skin with laser. This can last for several days.
